Getting to Anna Maria Island

Compare your flight and the journey to your rental together. A lower airfare can lose its appeal once you add baggage, a rental car or a transfer for the whole group. Start with Sarasota Bradenton (SRQ), Tampa International (TPA) and St. Pete-Clearwater (PIE), then check the options for your dates and home address.

Three airports to compare

Use the airport code when searching flights. Tampa International and St. Pete-Clearwater are different airports, so make sure your driver or rental-car reservation matches the one on your ticket.

What to check after choosing a flight
Airport Getting from the terminal Official information
Sarasota Bradenton International (SRQ) On-site rental-car counters are in baggage claim. The covered rental-car lot is within walking distance of the terminal. SRQ rental cars and transportation options
Tampa International (TPA) Take SkyConnect from the Main Terminal to the on-airport Rental Car Center. Ride-app pickup points differ from taxi pickup areas; follow the airport’s current instructions. TPA arriving-passenger guide
St. Pete-Clearwater International (PIE) The airport lists rideshare pickup at Arrivals and taxis and shuttles in the Ground Transportation lot outside baggage claim. Confirm that your chosen service covers your rental address. PIE transportation services

Rental car or prebooked transfer?

Think about the days after arrival. If you plan trips off the island or have several people arriving on different flights, compare a rental car with separate transfers. Check the property’s parking allowance before booking more than one vehicle. For days closer to home, our trolley and bus guide can help you plan local journeys.

For a transfer, ask for a quote to the exact address, including the return journey. Confirm how flight delays are handled and where you will meet the driver. Give the company your passenger count and luggage needs, including bulky items such as a stroller. Arrange any child seats or accessible vehicle requirements directly with the provider before paying.

For a rental car, check collection hours, the company’s delayed-flight procedure and its toll-payment terms. Leave room in the vehicle for luggage as well as passengers. A golf cart booked for your island stay is a separate transport arrangement; plan your airport journey independently.

Plan the last part of the journey

Enter the rental’s full street address in your route planner. Check live traffic before leaving the airport, and allow for baggage collection and vehicle pickup. Avoid building your first evening around a fixed airport-to-house travel time.

If you are still choosing a rental, use our comparison of Anna Maria, Holmes Beach and Bradenton Beach to think through the location. Your airport decision and your beach-day plans do not have to be made separately.

Before a late arrival

Read the arrival instructions supplied for your property. Confirm when access begins, how you will receive the entry details and whom to call if you cannot get in. Ask about luggage storage or early access if you need it; do not assume either is available.

AnnaMariaRentals.com markets homes managed by Florida Vacation Homes and other professional local companies. Arrival arrangements and support contacts depend on the home you book. Keep that manager’s instructions available on your phone for the journey.

Review our rental booking checklist before confirming a stay, or return to Plan Your Stay for local guides. When you are ready to compare homes, search vacation rentals for your dates.
